Windows 7 In The Heazie!

Windows 7 was released yesterday to modest fanfare. The OS everyone loves to hate (despite and/or because of its approximate 94% market share reported last month) is shiny and improved significantly over the last iteration [of which we don't speak]. The most exciting part for me has always been the Media Center component. Despite Microsoft’s seemingly perpetual down-playing of the all-inclusive media experience, it remains the most robust solution by far to consolidate every ounce of content, be it on disk, or from internet or cable television. MS recently added an official Netflix WatchNow plug-in to the interface, its polish fitting in oh-so-nicely with other plug-in solutions like MyMovies 3, SecondRun.tv (Hulu) and MCShoutcast, not to mention MS’ own Internet TV solution which now streams selected titles from CBS. Like it or not, hate them or not, Microsoft is devoted to great software and Windows 7 is exactly that.
